Comcast could be punished for manipulating with internet traffic
Federal Communications Commission has recommended that the internet service provider Comcast should be punished for tempering with the internet access of their customers.
Comcast admitted that they tempered with p2p downloads on their network to prevent a complete meltdown of their network.
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin said that a punishment would be a good warning for other ISPs to avoid doing something similar.
Comcast could be punished for violating agency principles that guarantee customers open access to the Internet.
Comcast has been maintaining that it uses “carefully limited measures” to manage traffic on its broadband network.
