AT&T and AOL latest to block access to child porn newsgroups
AT&T and AOL have joined the ISPs in the US market who are blocking access to child porn newsgroups.
The initiative was started by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
However, the blockage is not selective as they are blocking access to all newsgroups with addresses starting with “alt.binary”.
Not all the sections in this network are related to child pornography and this has disappointed the internet users in the country.
AOL has in fact agreed to block access to all Usenet newsgroups.
