Seagate launches 1.5TB Barracuda 7200.11 hard disk
Seagate Technology has become one of the first hard disk manufacturers to introduce a 1.5TB hard drive for desktops.
The company has also launched two 500 GB hard disks for laptops.
Seagate claims that the 1.5TB drive features a Serial ATA interface of 3 gigabits per second and a sustained data rate of up to 120 megabytes per second.
It uses the perpendicular magnetic recording technology to store more data in a limited space.
The two new laptop drives are Momentus 7200.4 and the 5400.6.
All of these three drives come with a five year long warranty.
