FEV might provide the diesel engine for Tata Nano
Market sources say that Tata would source the diesel engine for their Tata Nano car from FEV.
The fuel injection system for this engine would be developed by Bosch.
FEV is based in Aachen, Germany and is already working with Mahindra & Mahindra on their diesel hybrid engine for Scorpio.
Tata is going to launch the Nano model with a petrol engine later this year. The company had promised that Nano would indeed be available with a diesel engine at a later stage.
Tata Nano could well become the first car in the world to sport a 800 cc, turbo charged, CRDi diesel engine.
