Intel Centrino 2 launched
Microprocessor industry giant Intel has announced the launch of their Centrino 2 platform.
The company said that this new platform increases battery life while delivery better performance.
It also comes with faster wireless internet connectivity.
It comes loaded with the company’s Core 2 Duo processors running between 2.26GHz and 3.06GHz.
They are now scheduled to launch a quad-core Core 2 chip for this platform which would be targeted at gamers and users who need very high performance from their portable computers.
The wireless chipset in this new platform supports 802.11n and WiMax.
Intel said that laptops powered by this new platform would be capable of handling 3D graphics and high-definition content. The platform comes with the new GMA X4500MHD integrated graphics processor.
