Microsoft Live Search gains from Live Cashback
Microsoft had recently announced their Live Cashback offering on their Live Search service.
The launch seems to have somewhat helped Microsoft as research shows a 15% gain in search volume in the recent month compared to the previous month.
However, this is still not enough data to prove that Microsoft would benefit from this strategy in the longer run.
Comscore said in their report that the company had an overall market share of 9.2%.
This offering is not going to work in the longer run as Microsoft is unlikely to generate profits as they are giving back big discounts to customers for using their search engine services for shopping.
