Volkswagen Beetle might be coming to India
Beetle was originally designed to be an economical car for the masses. Today it is more of a niche product and it might be coming to India.
Volkswagen is considering plans to bring the new Beetle to India as they are working on further expanding their presence.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars India Managing Director Makham Dhalivaal spoke about their plans: “Beetle is an iconic brand and the profile of the customer the world over for this car is upwardly mobile and well travelled and those who wants to be different. We see a segment of those customers in India.”
It would of course not be priced competitively. But the company believes that the iconic car could boost their image in the Indian market.
VW could bring the Beetle from their Mexico plant.
