Google hits the 1 trillion unique URL mark on the web!
Search engine giant Google has noted in a blog post that their search engine crawlers have now seen more than 1 trillion unique URLs on the web.
This is a major milestone for the company’s search engine which had indexed one billion URLs by the year 2000.
The blog post added that the web is growing rapidly and their engines see several billion pages per day.
Looks like the blogging revolution has really made the web a very big place and it is going to become even more complicated for search engines to stay up to date with the latest.
The blog post further stated: “we’re proud to have the most comprehensive index of any search engine, and our goal always has been to index all the world’s data.”
Let’s see if rival companies come out with challenging figures in the coming days.
