Nokia to pay North Rhine-Westphalia for plant closure
Nokia has confirmed that they would be paying fines to the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia for their decision to close down their plant.
This plant is making huge losses for the company and they would now be paying over 1.3 million Euros to resolve the dispute.
The company has also started a 20-million-euro “Growth for Bochum” foundation which is designed to provide capital to companies related to mobile telephone and information technology.
Nokia is moving their plant to Romania to cut their operating costs as mobile industry is becoming more and more competitive every day.
