Cuil search engine takes on Google

Cuil is the latest of the search engine companies to take on Google in the search engine space.

The service claims to be indexing more than 120 billion web pages and the developers include ex senior Googlers.

The size of the index and the people behind the search engine makes it different from other recent rivals Google has faced.

However, they would need to have more to prove that they are better than Google at search.

Cuil seems to be under a lot of load today as it has been just launched and a lot of people are probably playing with it. Our test results were not very impressive as it seems to miss some really obvious search results at the top for our keywords.

We will keep checking it out as they fine tune it to become more relevant in the coming days.
