Winglet: Toyota does a Segway like device
Japanese automaker Toyota has developed a prototype vehicle that is very similar to Segway.
They call it Winglet. The company said that the vehicle was designed people shop around in a mall.
The potential target for this vehicle would be elderly people.
Toyota however has no current plans to sell it in the market. They are for now planning to test it out at airports and resorts to see the usability of the vehicle.
The prototype showcased has a top speed of 3.7 miles per hour which is much lower than the top speed of Segway.
A company representative said: “We hope to create friendly robots that can exist side by side with people. Winglet will help everyone move around safely and stay active.”
