Joerg Mueller: VW wants 10% share in India in five years
Maruti has around 50% share in the Indian automobile market. Almost every new automaker in India wants a piece of that.
GM has already announced and they are working hard on it to achieve a 10% share by the end of the decade.
Now Volkswagen has said that they want to have a 10% share in the Indian pool within the next five years.
VW’s president in India Joerg Mueller said in a statement: “We want to move quickly in terms of volume.”
VW is currently selling only high end luxury cars in India though they have big plans for this market.
They are already working on increasing the capacities of their plants to manufacture more units of Fabia which is a Skoda brand.
VW is also planning to launch their new small car UP in India in the coming years.
