Iran launches homemade satellite in space
Iran has revealed that they have now launched their first homemade satellite in the space.
The official IRNA news agency said in a report: “Iran’s Omid satellite was launched on Sunday using the Safir satellite-carrier rocket.”
Another news source added: “The president attended Iran’s Space Centre and ordered the launch … He congratulated the Iranian nation on the great achievement.”
This has caused some concerns in the west as the technology used to launch the rocket can be used to launch missiles to far off places. Iran has denied that they have plans to do so.
