Volkswagen could setup research center in India
German automaker Volkswagen has said that they are considering plans to establish a research center in the Indian market.
This could be similar to their existing research center in china which they had setup around three years ago.
A company representative said: “In China, we set up an accident research centre in 2005. We go to an accident site to find out exactly what happened there, the real cause, and then use the findings as design inputs. We are considering a similar sort of centre for India. Every country has a different culture and this can require different safety features.”
VW has become one of the most active automakers in the Indian market. They are launching new models all the time and they already have their subsidiaries Audi and Skoda selling their cars in the market.
