Amazon to launch special edition of Kindle for students
Online retailing giant Amazon has stated that they are all set to launch a new edition of their Kindle eBook reader which would be aimed at students.
Experts believe that the new edition would feature a larger screen to make it more suitable for electronic versions of text books.
A lot of book publishers are now offering electronic versions of school textbooks and this seems like a logical step for Amazon to follow.
Amazon continues to hide the sales figure of their Kindle device but states that it sells in large number.

About

It seems you are mixing 2 rumors: 1) that Amazon will release in Oct 2008 the next Kindle, much like the original but with better interfaces. 2) that sometime in 2009 they will release a large screen version more suitable for textbooks - presumably this version is NOT yet ready for release.
