Amazon to launch special edition of Kindle for students
Online retailing giant Amazon has stated that they are all set to launch a new edition of their Kindle eBook reader which would be aimed at students.
Experts believe that the new edition would feature a larger screen to make it more suitable for electronic versions of text books.
A lot of book publishers are now offering electronic versions of school textbooks and this seems like a logical step for Amazon to follow.
Amazon continues to hide the sales figure of their Kindle device but states that it sells in large number.

It seems you are mixing 2 rumors: 1) that Amazon will release in Oct 2008 the next Kindle, much like the original but with better interfaces. 2) that sometime in 2009 they will release a large screen version more suitable for textbooks – presumably this version is NOT yet ready for release. What are your sources?
