China removes the Apple iTunes block
The Chinese internet regulatory body has now removed the block on Apple iTunes service.
Sources say that the block was due to the album “Songs for Tibet,” featuring songs by Sting, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morrisette which was made available on the store.
The album contains a 15-minute speech by Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
Reports say that the entire iTunes store is now accessible in China except for the page for the controversial album.
Art of Peace Foundation Executive Director Michael Wohl said that the album was released on iTunes to protest the limits of free expression in China.
