Yahoo Mash to become part of history
Internet media giant Yahoo has probably realized that they cannot become dominating forces in all the internet segments.
Google has taken away search and online advertising. They are now going to kill their Mash social networking service.
Yahoo Mash has been in existence for only around a year.
A company representative wrote to the members of the community: “Thank you for trying out our Mash Beta service. We hope you had fun with it. Please note that we will shut down Mash on September 29, 2008. As a result, your current profile on Mash will no longer be available.” Not a very informative mail for few people who are probably still using it.
Yahoo had also closed down another similar service named Mixd last year.
