Comcast reveals data usage policy for home internet users
Comcast has finally made it official that there is a limit for their home internet customers when it comes to data transfer.
The limit is set to 250GB of data per month which comes to around 8.5GB per day.
This new policy is now published on the company website. Comcast said that they would implement it from October.
The company also revealed details on what they would do if the limits are crossed. On first instance, the customer would get a call from the company. If this is repeated again, the services would be blocked for a period of one year.
Comcast added: “This does not affect our commercial customers. We need to remember that the amount of usage we are talking about, more than 250GB a month, does not apply to more than 99 percent of our customers. So the less than 1 percent who are notified today receive a phone call from Comcast asking them to moderate their usage, which the vast majority of them do voluntarily.”
