OLPC XO Laptop to be sold through Amazon
The One Laptop Per Child Foundation is planning to sell their XO laptop through Amazon this holiday season.
The people behind the project hinted that this sale would be similar to the one held last year.
Customers would be paying for two units but would receive one. The other unit would be given to a child in the developing country.
There is also a possibility that they would be delivering the XO Laptop loaded with a version of Windows this time around.
OLPC had signed a deal with Microsoft for this enabling them to sell the device with Windows XP. Microsoft is charging them a token amount of USD 3 per device.
They are hoping to sell more devices this time around because Amazon would take care of delivery and customer experience.
