Cablevision launches Wi-Fi network in USA
Cablevision Systems has announced the launch of what they claim is the largest and most advanced consumer Wi-Fi network in the US market.
The company said that their network now covers Nassau County and areas of Suffolk County in addition to commuter rail and parking areas in New York’s Long Island.
This service is available for free to Cablevision’s Optimum broadband customers.
It provides speeds of up to 1.5 Megabits per second which is comparable to decent DSL connections.
They are using infrastructure provided by Cisco and BelAir Networks for this massive network.
