XO Laptop second generation could be out in 2010
Matt Keller, OLPC’s director of Europe, Middle East and Africa has said that they hope to launch the second generation XO Laptop in the market by 2010.
The foundation had revealed their plans for this second generation model earlier this year. They are aiming to include two touchscreens.
Keller said that they have high hopes from the second generation model which would be even more user friendly for kids in developing nations.
He added: “The e-book reader is the most popular function of the laptop.”
The designs showcased the device without any physical keyboard. Instead a software based keyboard would be included.
They are aiming to build the second generation device for $80 per unit which experts believe is tough to achieve.
