Maruti A-Star to be known as Pixo and Alto internationally
Suzuki has announced their brand naming plans for their upcoming new global car A-Star.
This new model would be known as such in the Indian market.
Nissan would resell this car in some of their markets under the brand name Pixo.
Suzuki would use this model as their new Alto in the international market.
Maruti A-Star would be manufactured in the Suzuki’s Indian plant solely.
Internationally, this model would compete against the popular compact car from Toyota, Aygo.
In the Indian market, it would take on the rival models like Hyundai i10, Fiat Palio and Tata Motors Indica Vista.
Maruti incidentally already sell a model named Alto in India. This model would boost the exports number for Maruti.
