Sony gets permission to acquire stake in Sony BMG
EU regulators have now given their approval to Sony to acquire the stake owned by Bertelsmann in Sony BMG.
European Commission said in a statement that they do not believe that the deal would affect the market much.
The deal would make Sony the complete owner of the current entity Sony BMG.
Sony would then rename the company Sony Music Entertainment.
Bertelsmann said that they decided to exit from the company as they believe it would benefit the stakeholders of both companies.
