MySpace said to be closing in on a deal with EMI
EMI is the only music company yet to sign a deal with MySpace for their upcoming service MySpace Music.
Market sources are saying that the two companies are very close to signing a deal which would allow MySpace to offer EMI music on their network.
Experts believe that MySpace should be able to complete the formalities before the launch of the service.
MySpace Music could become one of the most potent challengers to Apple iTunes considering they are one of the most popular social networking services on the web.
The service would broadcast music for free allowing the user to purchase the tracks as per their requirements.
Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony BMG have already signed on deals with MySpace for this service.
