Social networking more popular than Porn now online

Analyst Bill Tancer has claimed that web users are now more likely to indulge in social networks than searching for porn on the internet.

He based his study on information gathered from over 10 million web users.

He mentions this in his new book titled: Click: What Millions of People are Doing Online and Why It Matters.

Tancer spoke about his research: “There are some patterns to our Internet use that we tend to repeat very specifically and predictably, from diet searches, to prom dresses, to what we do around the holidays.”

He added: “As social networking traffic has increased, visits to porn sites have decreased. My theory is that young users spend so much time on social networks that they don’t have time to look at adult sites.”
