GM showcases production version of Chevrolet Volt
US based automaker GM finally showcased their upcoming production version of electric car Chevrolet Volt.
The car was showcased by the company Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner.
He spoke about the Volt: “We’re reinventing the automobile.”
The company is investing heavily in this model. This could help them turnaround their operations in the US market which are very troubled at this moment.
GM is struggling to compete against the Japanese automakers that have tons of fuel efficient models to offer to customers in the US market.
GM said that they are currently scheduled to bring the car to the market in late 2010.
They would manufacture around 100 of the production models in 2009 for testing around the world.
