Tesla Motors establishing a new plant in San Jose

Electric car maker Tesla Motors has announced that they are going to setup their second plant in San Jose.

They have leased 89 acres in San Jose for their new headquarters and this plant.

The company added that their new Model S will be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.

They would sell this new model in the market for around $60,000.

This would make this model much cheaper than their current model Roadster.

They aim to start manufacturing at this new plant by 2010. Tesla would manufacture around 15,000 units during the first year of manufacturing.

Tesla is backed by people who were/are behind online giants like eBay, PayPal and Google.
