Microsoft retires Bill Gates-Seinfeld ad campaign

Looks like Microsoft has realized that their recent ads featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates weren’t really that innovative.

The company has now retired this campaign that probably cost them in millions of dollars.

A Microsoft representative said that their new advertisements would focus on their Windows operating system.

Mich Mathews said: “The notion that we’re doing some quick thing to cancel (Bill Gates-Seinfeld ads) is actually preposterous. Today was always the day. … Media buying is something you have to do months in advance.”

He added that the two ads were supposed to act as ice breakers for the new series of ads they are planning to bring to the market. They are however continuing to explore the possibility of launching new ads featuring Seinfeld.
