Large Hadron Collider faced issues within hours of launch
European Organization for Nuclear Research has confirmed that they faced problems with the Large Hadron Collider just hours after it started operating.
This problem was not reported for a week.
CERN said that a 30-ton transformer that cools part of the collider broke which forced them to stop the operations of the machine.
They then replaced the problematic part and the operations were then resumed.
Experts believe that it is not uncommon for a machine this size to face such small problems.
CERN added that since the problem has been fixed they expect to tighten the clockwise beam and prepare experiments in coming weeks.
