Latest problems at Large Hadron Collider would mean long delay

European Organization for Nuclear Research has stated that they are facing some more issues with their Large Hadron Collider.

The machine could now be down for as long as two months as they work on resolving the latest problem with the whole setup.

The malfunction yesterday resulted in a large helium leak into the tunnel.

CERN said in its statement: “Strict safety regulations ensured that at no time was there any risk to people. A full investigation is underway but it is already clear that the sector will have to be warmed up for repairs to take place. This implies a minimum of two months down time.”

LHC is probably the biggest machine humans ever made. The aim is to simulate the “Big Bang” conditions to find out more about the origin of the universe.
