Intel Xeon 7400 six core processor was designed in India
Intel might not be manufacturing their processors in the Indian market but they do have a massive development project going on here.
The company recently launched their first six core Xeon 7400 series processor. This processor was designed by Intel India team.
Analysts believe that this processor might be the first ever to be completely designed in India.
R. Ravichandran, Director–Sales, Intel South Asia said in a statement that the Indian unit carried out the post-silicon validation which is required to test out manufacturability and compliance with parameters.
Intel India’s President Praveen Vishakantaiah added: “Trials showed run time can be reduced by 46 per cent with significant power savings. Datacentre complexity can also be reduced, helping enterprises”.
