Sony launches PlayNow Plus music service for mobile users

Within weeks of Nokia’s launch of their Comes with Music service, Sony has now launched their own PlayNow Plus music service.

Sony PlayNow Plus is currently available only in Sweden.

Sony Ericsson said that they would make it available in other markets by next year.

The music service provides unlimited access to digital media for a fixed price per month.

The company said that they decided to work on this service in collaboration with mobile service providers unlike Nokia which is doing it on its own.

They have for now signed up a deal with Telenor in Sweden. The company is also now offering a special version of the W902 Walkman phone to complement this new service.

EMI, Sony BMG, Warner Music and Universal are their partners for this venture.
