T-Mobile USA gains sanity: Removes the 1GB limit for Google G1
T-Mobile USA is going to become the first mobile service provider worldwide to launch a Google Android powered mobile phone next month
Google G1 is the first device that would be sold in the US market and T-Mobile would be the exclusive seller of the device.
The excitement was however diminished when experts noticed a condition on the terms the customer would have to agree to when he purchases the G1.
T-Mobile had placed a 1GB limit on data transfer on the G1. After this limit, the company said that they were free to slow down the user’s connectivity to as little as 50kbps.
The company has probably decided to change this stance after tons of bad publicity. They have now removed this condition.
T-Mobile USA said in a statement: “We removed the 1GB soft limit from our policy statement, and we are confident that T-Mobile G1 customers will enjoy the high speed of data access over our 3G network. The specific terms for our new data plans are still being reviewed and once they are final we will be certain to share this broadly with current customers and potential new customers.”
