Dell to switch to LED displays in all laptops by 2010

US based personal computer maker Dell has announced that they aim to switch to LED powered displays on all their laptop models by 2010.

The company would be making the switch in a big way starting this year itself.

Dell said that almost 70% of their laptops sold in December would feature this new technology which consumes less power and is more efficient.

They aim to make it a standard offering in 80% of their products by next year.

Apple is another company which aims to switch to LED technology in the coming years. They already use these displays in MacBook Air and a variant of MacBook Pro. Apple iPods and iPhones too have LED screens.
