US based mobile phone maker Motorola has announced that they would be launching a cheap full touch-screen device in the Indian market next month.

The first of the new models would be the Moto Yuva A810. It would be priced at around Rs. 8000.

The phone would feature a 2.2-inch touch-screen, handwriting recognition. Motorola would customize the phone with Indian features like SMS in local languages.

Lloyd Mathias, Motorola India’s senior director, head of sales (India and southwest Asia) spoke about this new model: “There is a huge expectation in the Indian market for low-cost touch-screen phones. With the new product we expect a good demand for it.”

India has been seeing a lot of new high end mobile phones like the Apple iPhone 3G, Blackberry Bold and Samsung Omnia. Good to see a cheap touch screen mobile phone being planned for the market.
