SpaceX successfully launches a rocket into space
SpaceX has become the first ever private entity to have successfully launched a rocket into the space.
The rocket was carrying a dummy payload. It was the fourth attempt from the company and the first one that was successful.
Elon Musk who is behind SpaceX said: “This really means a lot. There’s only a handful of countries on Earth that have done this. It’s usually a country thing, not a company thing. We did it.”
They now plan to launch more rockets into the space now that they have fixed the design issues which messed up the previous launches.
They are also developing a launch vehicle named Falcon 9 for NASA which could be used for missions to International Space Station once the Space Shuttle fleet retires.
