India set to launch Chandrayaan-1 this month
India is going ahead with their space program with the scheduled launch of lunar spacecraft Chandrayaan-1 later this month.
Chandrayaan-1 is currently scheduled for launch on October 22.
ISRO said in a statement on their plans: “We have set October 22 as the tentative date for the launch of lunar spacecraft Chandrayaan-1, though the launch window will be kept open till October 26.”
This launch was originally planned for April this year but was delayed due to technical problems.
With this, India would now join China and Japan which are running their own programs.
ISRO said that the program would be continued with another launch which is currently scheduled for 2012.
