Microsoft planning a European Search Technology Centre
US based software giant Microsoft continues to work hard on improving their search technologies to compete effectively against Google.
The company has now announced their plans to establish a European Search Technology Centre.
This center would work on improving the search technologies used by their Live Search engine.
This announcement comes after they acquired the Norwegian enterprise search firm Fast Search & Transfer.
This new European center would have branches all over Europe in Paris, London and Munich.
Company CEO Steve Ballmer had recently spoken about their plans for Europe: “Increasingly, we are finding the talent we need here in Europe. Today, Europe is second only to the United States in the number of engineers and researchers we have working on creating innovative products and services.”
