ISRO aiming for manned mission to Moon in 2014

Indian Space Research Organization has said that they are aiming to launch a manned mission to Moon in 2014.

They are already scheduled to launch the first unmanned mission to the moon on October 22.

ISRO is working on plans to launch the manned mission using a Geo-Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle.

They are now working on creating a team for the manned mission to moon.

ISRO said in a statement: “Our chairman is very keen on the project getting approval. He has asked us to come out with complete proposals internally.”

MC Dathan, director, Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota Range added: “The commission has cleared the proposal and it has been submitted to the government. A high-powered committee is studying the report. It is expected to be cleared in about two months.”
