Netflix to charge a dollar more for Blu-Ray discs
US based movie rental service Netflix has announced that they are going to charge a dollar more for movies sent in the high definition Blu-Ray format.
This would be in addition to the regular subscription fees. The company had hinted before that such a charge was unavoidable.
Customers who have rented Blu-Ray media discs in the past received an email with the message confirming this.
Netflix said that the extra charge is necessary because Blu-Ray format movies are more expensive compared to their DVD versions.
It remains to be seen if customers are going to get annoyed with this extra charge considering the discs were being offered at no extra cost till now.
