AppleInsider: NVIDIA chipset coming to new Apple MacBooks
AppleInsider has reported that they have confirmed news that the new MacBooks expected this week are going to come with NVIDIA chipsets instead of Intel ones.
The report said that Apple has decided to switch from Intel’s chipset to NVIDIA’s MCP79 platform.
This is said to be largely due to the smaller footprint of the Nvidia chipset which is also much more capable and powerful.
Nvidia chipset also comes with features such as DriveCache and Hybrid SLI which are beneficial in notebooks and laptops.
Apple is scheduled to hold a launch event later this week and the company has surprisingly made it pretty clear that they are coming out with new notebook models.
