Sharp Aquos now with integrated Blu-Ray drives!
Japanese consumer electronics maker Sharp has launched their latest range of Aquos LCD TVs.
These new products comes integrated with Blu-Ray drives.
The company said that these television sets are the first of their kind in the world.
They would go on sale in the Japanese market next month at prices ranging between 170,000 and 500,000 yen.
Sharp chief executive Mikio Katayama spoke about these new products at launch ceremony: “At a time that competition is tough and the atmosphere bad, we want to differentiate ourselves by offering customers products that are of great quality but simple to use.”
Sharp said that the players integrated in the television sets are removable if it is required for repair purposes.

That’s pretty awesome! It’d be one thing to just drop a blu-ray player into a TV, but it’s fantastic that they’re actually including the BR recorder as well. I guess the only real question is how much is it going to cost…
