Qik for Blackberry Alpha launched

California based mobile video company Qik has now announced the availability of Qik for Blackberry version 1 alpha.

This application is available as a free download from their website.

It enables the mobile user to stream video live from their mobile phone. The video is then viewable on Qik.com.

It can also be embedded on a third party website and social networking profile pages.

The service also can post the videos to third party video sharing websites like YouTube for future viewing.

For the time being, the alpha supports only a limited number of Blackberry devices. These are: Blackberry Pearl 8120, Blackberry Pearl 8130 and Blackberry Bold.

They are soon going to add support for Blackberry Pearl Flip and Blackberry Curve.
