HP launches Netbooks
Hewlett Packard has become the latest player in the growing Netbook market.
The company is going to launch several models in this segment.
For now, they have on offer three models which would be made available in the retail market by January.
All of these models have a lot of stuff in common. They are all less than 1 inch thick, weigh a little over 2 pounds.
They also come loaded with goodies like webcam and microphone.
HP is powering these Netbook models with Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor.
They would feature a 1024-by-600 glass display with an LED backlight. Other features include an Ethernet jack, 2 USB ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support.
Customers would have the option to pick either a hard disk or a Solid State Drive with these machines.
The models:
HP Mini 1000 is the first of the three models to go on sale. It comes in black color. OS is Windows XP Home edition. Price is USD 399.
HP would soon launch a designer edition of this notebook. Vivienne Tam has designed this special edition Netbook. It would be similar to HP Mini 1000 but would cost $699.
HP Mini 1000 with MIE (Mobile Internet Experience) is the third model. It comes loaded with Linux operating system.
