Motorola to concentrate on Windows Mobile and Google Android

Motorola has stated that they are going to reinvent their mobile phone division as they are delaying the spin off process.

They are also going to stop working on mobile devices based on mobile platforms like Symbian.

Instead, the company would focus on releasing products based on Windows Mobile and Google Android.

Windows Mobile would be used for higher end mobile phones. Google Android is likely to power their mid-range devices.

Motorola would continue to use its own P2K proprietary platform at the low end.

Motorola is one company that can benefit immensely from the availability of Google Android. They have a massive brand awareness in the US market and they can really do well if they can come out with interesting products powered by Android.
