Microsoft and LG to collaborate on mobile tech

US based software giant is collaborating with South Korean tech giant LG on mobile technologies.

This deal was signed during Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s visit to South Korea.

LG spoke about their deal with Microsoft: “The agreement ensures continued strategic collaboration in R&D, marketing, applications, and services in the field of converged mobile devices. Both companies will continue to define and align their mobile strategies through annual top management meeting.”

Microsoft needs to keep relations good with the major mobile phone makers around the world as their Windows Mobile platform is facing intense competition from both new and old players in the market.

Apple launched iPhone last year and Google launched their G1 mobile based on Android just weeks ago.
