Wikipedia seeking USD 6 million in donations
Wikipedia operators are seeking USD 6 million in donations in their latest drive.
This is three times the amount they had managed to garner last year.
These funds are to be used to operate the open source encyclopedia project.
This latest campaign would continue till January 15.
Incidentally, this is the first time they have set a goal for the contributors for donations.
Wikipedia is hugely popular online and is one of the most visited web sites in the world.
The site does not run advertising and relies on user donations to operate.
