SanDisk promises much faster solid state drives!
SanDisk has announced that they would soon launch solid state drives which would be much faster than the products currently available in the market.
The company talked about their new advanced flash file system which SanDisk claims can accelerate random write speeds by up to 100 times over existing systems.
This new ExtremeFFS flash file management system utilizes a page-based algorithm which enhances the writing capabilities of the disk in more efficient manner.
Company representative Rich Heye added in a statement: “For SSDs to perform optimally in Windows Vista, and thus replicate or surpass the functionality of hard disk drives, a new flash management technology is needed to accelerate SSD write speed and endurance.”
SanDisk aims to launch these ExtremeFFS based disks starting next year.
