Yahoo: Microsoft deal is the best option
Yahoo Chief Executive Officer Jerry Yang has been quoted as saying in media that he considers a deal with Microsoft to be the best possible scenario for the company.
He said: “People who know me know I don’t have an ego about remaining independent versus not remaining independent.”
Yang said that he is open to the idea of selling Yahoo’s search business to Microsoft.
However, he did clarify that there are no new talks between the two companies.
Google has just announced that they are moving out of their earlier announced deal with Yahoo related to search advertising.
There are also reports that Yahoo is in talks with Time Warner to acquire their AOL division. No confirmation on this has been issued.
