Samsung overtakes Motorola in US mobile market
Motorola had it coming. South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has now overtaken them to become the largest mobile phone seller in the US market.
They managed this feat in the recent quarterly period where their sales were higher than those of Motorola mobile phones.
In those three months, Samsung had a market share of 22.4% compared to 21.1% for Motorola and 20.5% for LG Electronics.
This is mostly due to poor performance of Motorola in the US mobile market. The company has failed to come out with impressive mobile phone models.
They are in the process of massive restructuring. The company is also focusing on developing Google Android based phones to generate some excitement in the market.
